In light of National Nutrition Month I thought that I would share some of my general nutrition thoughts. Although these are vague they can be easily applied to everyday life…. Give these a read and think about your own daily habits. If you want to learn more about National Nutrition Month- check it out here: #NNM
1. Eat more plants
-More fruits and veggies on a daily basis
can make a huge impact on creating a healthier diet
2. Drink more water -In general water is the best beverage to consume…. Measure Glass recently sent me one of their glasses that have ounces written on it… I used it for a few days at home and I usually carry a marked water bottle at all times. I drink a crap ton of water already so it didn’t change my habits, but I think it would be beneficial for someone trying to increase water/fluid intake… and its reassuring to know that you are getting enough fluids. |
-Servings are grossly overestimated by the general public when cooking at home and are almost always served in triple portions when out to eat. Be aware of how much you are eating and use smaller plates at home to help limit your servings.
-Eating mindfully and intuitively goes hand in hand with numbers 3 and 4… listen to your body’s cravings and when it is full or hungry. Take your time with meals to savor the taste and realize the goodness it provides your body.
